Have you ever found a few skeins of yarn in your stash and still have no idea what to do with? So this pattern for you! This crochet blanket pattern is very simple and perfect for beginners. Just crochet a “grid” and make colorful “snake” on it. Also it is a good way to utilize leftover yarn.
MATERIALS:
Yarn: Alize Cotton Gold, Sport / 5 ply, 55% Cotton, 45% Acrylic, 360 yards / 100 grams – 330 grams
Crochet Hook: 4 mm
Size: flower part – 74 x 76 cm or 29 x 30 in
Stitches Used: ch-chain, sl st-slip stitch, sc-single crochet, dc-double crochet
PATTERN:
Crochet “a grid”
Chain multiple of 2+3 (150+3)
Row 1: ch-153, dc in the 4th chain from the hook, * ch-1, skip next ch, dc in next dc **, rep from * to ** to the end of the row
Row 2: ch-4, turn, dc in next dc, * ch-1, dc in next dc **, rep from * to ** to the end of the row
Rep Row 2 until you’ll reach the desired length
Crochet a “snake” on the “grid”
Connect the yarn to any corner of the blanket. Do not crochet tight:
* ch-1, sc in next dc ** rep from * to ** to the last but one, ch-1, sc in the last but one dc, ch-1, sc in next ch-1 of next row of the grid, turn, rep from * to ** to the end of the row
Make 2 rows of sc around the blanket, 5 sc in each corner
This blanket is lovely the colours
This simple idea is actually MOST creative ! :)
I think, however, that I’d probably find myself getting out-of-count (so to speak) with the grid; and the idea of needing to check every row is a bit off-putting …
That being said, it really is appealing; so perhaps I’ll give it a burl and see …
Fabulous and creativity is totally awesome…..got bunches of scrap yarn….and you provided the perfect arena to get rid of them!!! Thank you so much for sharing!! 🌹🌹🌹
Thank you :)
