I’ve been loving picots and popcorn stitches a lot lately. I hope you are not tired of these patterns. So, meet my new crochet “Moon” top. It is a very simple pattern and you can make it in any size. Also, you can make it longer or even crochet a dress using the pattern.

MATERIALS:

MATERIALS:

Yarn: Hobbii Rainbow 8/8 100% Cotton, DK, 82 yards(75 meters) / 50 grams (1.76 ounces) – 4 (5) 6 7 9 skeins

Hook size: 5.0 mm (H)

Gauge: 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in = 12 sts x 7 rows

Size: XS, (S-M), L-XL, 2XL-3XL, 4XL-5XL, width – 37 (42) 47 52 57 cm / 14.6 (16.5) 18.5 20.5 22.4 in, length – 20 cm / 7.8 in + shoulders straps – 12 (12) 16 20 24 cm / 4.7 (4.7) 6.3 7.9 9.5 in.

Stitches Used: ch – chain, sl st – slip stitch, sc – single crochet, dc – double crochet, dtc – double triple crochet, picot, triple picot – (ch 3, sl st in the third ch from the hook) three times.

PATTERN:

Measure the fullest part of your chest and crochet a foundation dc a multiple of 2. Crochet 86 (100) 114 128 142 dc and join with sl st to the 1st dc. Working top-down.

Round 1: Ch 5 (count as the first dtc), dtc in each dc around, join with sl st to top of ch-5.

Round 2: Ch 1, * sc in next 2 dtc in the front loop only, picot **, rep from * to ** around, join with sl st to the first st.

Round 3: Ch 5 (count as the first dtc), dtc in each dtc in the back loop only to the end of the round,  join with sl st to top of ch 5.

Repeat Round 2-3 four times or until you reach the desired length. Finish with round 2. After that, crochet a row of dc in the back loops only.

SHOULDER STRAPS:

Mark the places for the shoulder straps, join the thread, and repeat the main pattern but work in the rows.

The number of stitches between two shoulder straps is 18 dc (front part). Armholes -12 dc, The number of stitches between two shoulder straps is 16 dc (back part). The number of stitches between these parts depends on you.

Row 1: Connect the yarn to the marked dc, ch 5 (count as the first dtc), dtc in next 8 dc.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, * sc in next 2 dtc in the back loop only, picot **, rep from * to ** to the end of the row.

Row 3: Ch 5 (count as the first dtc), turn, dtc in each dtc in the back loop only to the end of the row

Rep Rows 2-3 7 (7) 8 9 10 times. Connect the shoulder strap to the back part by sl sts.

EDGE:

Make a row of triple picots around the neckline, armholes, and bottom.

Row 1:  Connect the yarn to any st, * sc in next 4 sts, triple picot **, rep from * to ** around, join with sl st to the first sc.

    Hi! You make rad designs. I use the Triple crochet often enough. But I’ve never heard of a Triple DC. How is it made?
