How to Join Yo-Yo Puffs (Macaroons) Without Cutting the Thread

Earlier I made a post about how to crochet yoyo puffs. Now, I will show you how to join yoyo puffs without cutting the thread. If you want to crochet a colorful blanket, scarf, decorations etc, you should make the first yoyo (cut the thread), change the color and join next yoyo as you can see in the video ( the 7th yoyo puff).

MATERIALS:

Yarn: Alize Baby Softy / Aran (8 wpi)/ 126 yards / 50 grams, 100% Manufactured Fibers – Polyester (51307 color)

Crochet Hook: 3 mm

Stitches Used: ch-chain, sl st-slip stitch, sc-single crochet, dc-double crochet, dc2tog-2 dc crochet together, 

dtr-double treble 

Size: 63×33 cm or 25×13 in

Gauge: 16.0 sts = 4 inches

PATTERN:

Round 1: ch-5, join with sl st to the 1st ch, ch-5, 19 dtr into the circle, join with sl st to top of ch-5

Round 2: ch-2, dc in the 2nd dtr in the back loop only, dc2tog in next 2 sts (back loop only) to the end of the round, join with sl st to top of ch-2

2nd puf

* Make sl sts towards the second puff (it’s space between tenth and eleventh stitches), ch-10, sl st in the fifth ch from the hook, sl st in next 5 chs, 19 dtr into the circle

ch-2, dc in the 2nd dtr in the back loop only, dc2tog in next 2 sts (back loop only) to the end of the round, join with sl st to top of ch-2 **

repeat from * to ** until you’ll reach the desired length

2nd row of puffs

1 st puff

Make sl sts towards the 1st puff of the second row (space between fifth and sixth stitches), then crochet the puff.

2nd puff

Make sl sts towards the 2nd puff of the second row (space between fifth and sixth stitches), ch-10, sl st in the fifth ch from the hook, sl st in next 5 chs, 14 dtr into the circle, join with sl st to the space between fifth and sixth sts of the 1st row puff, 5 dtr into the circle, join with sl st to the top of ch-5
