Absolutely beautiful! Cannot wait to make it. Will look wonderful with tights. Thank you so much for making it free for us.

I’m confused by a portion of the directions in Round 10 that follows: ‘join with sl sto to top of ch-5 ‘. Can you tell me if this a typo? I think it means to join with a slip stitch to the top of the ch-5.

I love this pattern and plan to make it and maybe the Pineapple Crochet Top for my 3 granddaughters for Christmas.

Hi :) I would increase the number of chains between 3 dc in the rounds 2-3, change a hook to larger size and repeat the rows 2-3 to the middle of the bust and then follow the pattern. I hope you understand what I mean and I hope it’ll help you! :)

thanks Jane.. I will try that next time for her.. meanwhile I am confused by Round 3.. it says to skip every second 2ch space – but this pulls the pattern too much and when I look at the photo, that round has 3 dc in each chain space?

    • Jane says:

Dear Brigette, please look at the picture again. The first round is a row foundation sc, the second round is a row with ch-2 between dcs, the third row is a row where you skip every 2 ch space but the 4th round is a round with 3 dc in each ch-2 space.

Thanks again… I can see it now – and I have another question.. After I have repeated from round 4 to 11 twice and it says “make 3 rounds of shells” – does that just mean to repeat from 4 to 11 another 3 times??

    I have 2 questions-

    1) you say the hook size needed is “3mm an 4mm” What does this mean?

    2) you have this language for stitches “tc-triple crochet, dtr-double treble crochet” but it is my understanding (as I’m new to reading patterns) that “triple crochet” and “double treble” are the same stitch except the first one is US and the second is UK. I’m trying to figure out if I’m using my chart for US or UK stitches.

    Sorry for my confusion, thanks

      1) I changed the number of hooks. Please read the pattern carefully (after round 11)
      2) the pattern is written in standard American crochet terms.

I left a comment on the Ravelry page but thought I’d leave one here too. I’m new to this. Do I need 360 yards total or two skeins that are 360 yards each? Thank you :)

Hi there! I love this pattern and have started making a beautiful tunic! However, I’ve run into some problems with round 7. It says to make 1 dc in the next 6 dc, but from round 6 I don’t have any 6 dc in a row? Can you please help me :)

Round 6: ch-1, 3 sc in same space, * ch-2, 1 dc in next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch-5 space, ch-3, 3 dc in same space, 1 dc in next 3 dc, ch-2, 3 sc in the 2nd ch-3 space **, repeat from * to ** around, ch-2, 1 dc in next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch-5 space, ch-3, 3 dc in same space, 1 dc in next 3 dc, ch-2, join with sl st to the 1st sc

1 dc in next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch-5 space, = 6 dc
