This colorful crochet beanie will be a prefect accessory for summer! Since it’s a summer hat, I’ve used lightweight cotton yarn, but you can use thicker yarn to make a winter hat. This pattern also can be used for blankets, jackets, sweater, skirts or whatever you would like to crochet.
Materials:
Yarn: YarnArt Lily /Thread/100% Cotton/246 yards / 50 grams – 100 grams
Crochet Hook: 2 mm
Stitches Used: ch-chain, sl st-slip stitch, sc-single crochet, dc-double crochet, shell st- (2 dc, ch-1, 2 dc) in the same space, fpdc-front post double crochet, bpdc-back post double crochet

Size: 22 in or 56 cm
Pattern
Chain in multiples of 5 (140). Join with sl st to first ch.
Round 1: ch-2, dc in each ch around
Round 2-5: ch-2, * fpdc in next dc, bpdc in next dc **, repeat from * to ** around, join with sl st to top of ch-2
Round 6: (red), ch-3, skip 2 sts, shell st in next st, *skip 4 sts, shell st in next st ** repeat from * to ** around, join with sl st to top of ch-3
Round 7: (red), ch-3, shell st in each ch-1 space around, join with sl st to top of ch-3
Round 8: (red), sl st in next dc, sl st in ch-1 space, ch-3, dc in same space, ch-1, 2 dc in same space, shell st in each ch-1 space around, join with sl st to top of ch-3
Round 9: (peach), ch-1, tc in the space between 2 shells of previous round, ch-2,* sl st in next ch-1 space, ch-2, tc in the space between 2 shells of previous round, ch-2 ** repeat from * to ** around, join with sl st to top of ch-3
Round 10: (peach) sc in same space, * ch-4, sc in next tc **, repeat from * to ** around, join with sl st in the 1st sc
Round 11: (orange), ch-3, dc in same space, ch-2, 2 dc in same space, shell st in each ch-1 to the end of the round, join with sl st to top of ch-3
Repeat Round 8-11 changing the color of shells, end with Round 9 of pattern, join with sl st.
