I HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS TYPE OF YARN WITHOUT KNOWING WHICH ONE IS IT, NOW I LEARNED IS STRETCH AND COTTON, PERFECT FOR THE SKIRT I WANT TO MAKE AND WILL MAKE THIS TOP ALSO AS A SET. THANKS VERY MUCH.

El patrón lo hace uno añadiendo en las cadenetas base de 5 en 5. y así lo haces del tamaño que quieras.
Vas haciendo cadenetas de 5 en 5 hasta tu tamaño.
Esto es lo que se llama múltiplos.

Ive started this beautiful top. Made a ch 230 to begin with. I noticed that in row 33 it decreases to 184 and then increases to 276 in rows 34-36. I hope this is the correct count or I will have to restart it again. Any input?

  4. Beatriz says:

I’ve begun this project with a ch of 230. So far s o good – when I reached row 33 it decreased and now on row 34 it increased – could this be correct? I hope so or I’ll have to undo these rows. Can you offer any advise? Thanks

Can someone please explain the first part to me. I don’t get it! Should I chain multiples of 5 and 3ch then chain 222 and join to the very first chain or to the first chain of the 222? My multiple of 5 is 160ch and with the 3ch i chained 163ch.

  6. Janice says:

Hello, this is a beautiful top and I would like to know if here is a video tutorial of it? That would be awesome.
    Thank you!

    Please help !
I don’t understand why the increase at what appears to me to be the area where it should be the smallest part of the garment – I’m very confused.
I’m on my second attempt at making this for my daughter.. the first one came out way to small and she is only tiny at an Australian size 6. I’m now using a larger hook.
I cannot get any kind of elastic yarn in Australia, (well not that I could locate anyway).
    Thanks

You can get Nako yarn on Etsy or Ebay, just do a search of elastic yarn and it will come up. Or you can order Hikoo Cobasi elastic sock yarn online which is also elastic but mainly natural fibres. Failing that you can even just crochet/knit with a strand of elastic thread held doubled with your non elastic yarn like this http://www.clover-mfg.com/oceania/products/elastic/

  9. Veronica says:

Hello Jane! I love the top that you made and I would love to make some of my own and for a friend. I can’t find the Nako yarn. Is there an other yarn that I can use to achieve the same result als the Nako yarn? Does the yarn weight matter a lot for this project? Because I found some elastic sport yarn.

    Thanks

Hi! Could one of you ladies help me? Did she mean 2.00mm crochet hook? If so, what’s the letter for that crochet hook? Sorry I’m kind of new at this.

  11. efi trivola says:

Sorry but I can’t understand row 5 it says 4 dc in next ch- 4space dc in next sc repeat from to around so far everything is understood but at the end of the round where I crochet 2 dc in the first ch-4 space has already 4 dc I am so confused help me what I am doing wrong?

    • Jane says:

Please read the pattern carefully. You should end the 4th round with DC to the 1st sc. It is mean that you will start a new round from the middle of the chain space. Then make 3chs and dc in the same (ch-space), follow the pattern and finish with 2 dc in the 1st ch space

  12. Denise says:

What is the gauge? I am using a different yarn (Lang Yarn’s Moina) & hook size (2.25mm). I can adjust accordingly if I know the gauge. Thanks!

  13. Alissa Unyayeva says:

    Hi there! Top looks awesome!
I can’t work out what I’ve done wrong. The beginning chain is 220 sts is that right? Then in round 6 I finish with 2 dc in the same st & i have 2 sts left in a row. Should I just make ch2 & slip st at the end? Or I should’ve started with chain 222 in the first place?
    Thanks a lot in advance

  14. Alissa Unyayeva says:

Sorry, yes 219))) + ch3 makes 222sts but round 3,4,5 are multiples of 5 & rounds 7,8,9 are multiples of 3. It doesn’t make sense to me:( plz help

  15. Nandi says:

    Hi Jane
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, this is a beautiful pattern 🌸, do you possibly have a video for this pattern lm confused as to how to start round 2, after l slip stitch should l then csingle crochet in the same place and the end of round 2 also confuses me too.

  16. Iva says:

Hello Jane, greetings from the Czech Republic :) I love many of your patterns, you are doing great work. :) May I ask a question about this one? Is anywhere the “old” pattern? I remember that there was some decreasing in row 33 (or somehow) but in the new pattern this part is missing… :( Thank for your reply.

  17. Leigh says:

Hey! Love the pattern. Wanting to try it with a thicker softer Non stretch yarn. Can you tell me why it seems to get wider and wider with each of the chain 4 rows? Thanks?!!

    • Jane says:

You should measure your bust and start with a row of foundation dc in multiple of 5 according to your measurement. If you have a big difference between your bust measurement and your underbust measurement, you should decrease the amount of stitches in the row of dc, but it still must be multiple of 5. :)

  18. addie says:

    please help !!!!!
i don’t understand round 1 where the pattern says ‘foundation dc 220 sts’
i’ve done 100 foundation dc’s, it seems like 220 is too many !!
i really done understand how to make the 220 sts or how many foundation dc’s i need to do !

    • Jane says:

If you use the recommended yarn 220 chains will work. But if you use any other kind of yarn you should measure your bust and start with a row of foundation dc in multiple of 5 according to your measurement. If you have a big difference between your bust measurement and your underbust measurement, you should decrease amount of stitches in the row of dc, but it still must be multiple of 5. :)

  19. Pia says:

Hey there! Sadly your pattern is for size S but I would need it in size L. Do is just make a row of foundation chains considerinf the multiple of 5? Does it have to fit loosely or tight above the chest area?

    • Jane says:

You should measure your bust and start with a row of foundation dc in multiple of 5 according to your measurement. If you have a big difference between your bust measurement and your underbust measurement, you should decrease the amount of stitches in the row of dc, but it still must be multiple of 5. :)

    • Jane says:

Thank you! Measure your chest (the fullest part) and crochet a foundation row a multiple of 5 according to your measurement. Then, follow the pattern.

  20. Theresa says:

in your video I notice you yarn over but you also yarn under.May I ask why? And I want to THANK YOU for all your free patterns they’re all really good so just wanted you to know I really appreciate it.

  21. Tracy Howe says:

Hi. Thank you for a lovely pattern. I’ve just started the foundation row 1. The beginning 3ch makes up a dc i guess ? Does this count as the 1st dc ?

    • Jane says:

You can make less stitches at the beginning to adapt the pattern to your size but the number of stitches must be a multiple of 5.

  23. Autumn says:

Hello! I’m having a hard time understanding the first part.
In multiples of 5? But in your video you just continues the row. Is it supposed to be a cluster? Or do I start with a chain 5 and thats all? I’m sorry. TIA and have a great day!

  24. Natasha says:

Would love to do this pattern but can’t find this type of yarn & tried looking in yarnsyb. What other yarn would you recommend?
