Crochet Halter Heart Crop Top Free Pattern

crochet halter heart crop top free pattern

Do you remember my crochet heart coasters? Here is a link -> LINK. I received many requests to make these hearts in the form of granny squares. So, I decided to make something similar. Today, I will crochet a halter top with this square because of summertime! But you can use it for many other crochet projects such as shawls, scarfs, blankets or dresses.

Start working in rows:

Row 1: skip next dc, sl st in next dc and ch-2 space, ch-2, 2 hdc in the same space, hdc in next 3 dc, (3 hdc in next ch-3 space, hdc in next sc) rep to next dc, hdc in next 3 dc, 3 hdc in next ch-2 space, ch-2, 3 hdc in the same space, hdc in next 3 hdc,(3 hdc in next ch-3 space, hdc in next sc) rep to next dc, hdc in next 3 dc, 3 hdc in next ch-2 space

Row 2-8: ch-2 (count as a stitch), turn, hdc in each hdc to next ch-2 space, 3 hdc in next ch-2 space, ch-2, 3 hdc in the same space, hdc in each hdc to the end of the row

Don’t cut the thread, finish a side. I finished the right side and I will show you how to crochet it on the left side. The difference between them is that you finish the first row of the right side with dc in the ch-2 space, left side you start from the ch-2 space.

But you will decrease the number of stitches of each side from the bottom in the same way after the second row. The second row of the right side starts with ch-1, turn, sl st in next dc, ch-2, then crochet hdc in each st to the end of the row.

Now let’s go back to the left side

Row 1: join the thread to the ch-2 space, ch-2 (count as a stitch), hdc in each st to the end of row

Row 2: ch-2 (count as a stitch), turn, hdc in each hdc to the last ch-2 st (don’t forget to count it as a stitch), don’t crochet hdc in the last st

Row 3: ch-2 (count as a stitch), turn, hdc in each hdc to the end of the row

Rep Row 2-3 until you’ll reach the desired length. I decreased to 26 hdc on each side.

Join the sides with sl st in the front loop only.

Make a row of sc around the bottom part of the top.

Join the thread to top part of the top, make sc to the first dc,

sc in next 3 dc, 2 sc in next ch-3 space, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next ch-3 space) rep to next dc, sc in next 3 dc, sc in next ch-2 space, ch-100, hdc in the third ch from the hook, hdc in each ch to the ch-2 space, sc in ch-2 space, sc in next 3 dc, 2 sc in next ch-2 space, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next ch-2 space) rep to next dc,

sc in next 3 dc, sc in next ch-2 space, ch-100, hdc in the third ch from the hook, hdc in each ch to the ch-2 space, sc in next 3 dc, 2 sc in next ch-3 space, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next ch-3 space) rep to next 3 dc, sc in next 3 dc, sc to the end of the top part of the top, join with sl st to the 1st sc.

Please read the pattern carefully. You should count the first 2 chains as a stitch and don’t crochet hdc in the last stitch.

Please put more detailed instructions for the bodice. Both written pattern and video skip over and I cannot seem to get it right. Please help.
