CROCHET BOHO TOP FREE PATTERN

crochet boho top free pattern 1

Hi everyone! Until February 24, 2022, my blog was about crocheting, I was creating free and paid crochet patterns, and sharing video tutorials on my YouTube channel. But now, the only thoughts in my head are about war, bombs, dead people in Ukraine, and my helplessness in this war. This is a terrible feeling that does not leave any Ukrainian today. I keep working on my patterns because we have to support Ukraine. I don’t ask anything for me but I ask you to help Ukraine directly.

Connect the yarn to any ch-3 space, ch-3, dc in same space, ch-1, sc in any corner of the finished square, ch-1, 2 dc in same ch-3 space of the unfinished square, ch-1, sc in next ch-3 space of the finished square, ch-1, * skip next dc of the unfinished square, sc in next dc of the unfinished square, ch-1, sc in next ch-3 space of the finished square, ch-1 ** rep from * to **  until you reach the next ch-3 space (corner of the unfinished square), 2 dc in the 2nd corner (in ch-3 space) of the unfinished square, ch-1, sc in next ch-3 space of the finished square, ch-1, 2 dc in same sh-3 space of the unfinished square, ch-3, skip next dc of unfinished square sc in next dc, finish the square (Round 10).

Join 4 squares in the circle, it’s a bottom part of the top. After that, connect next 4 squares leaving the spaces for a neckline and sleeves as you can see here:

Then connect the sleeves. You will need 4 squares for each sleeve.

BORDER

Crochet 3 rows of dc around the bottom part and sleeves, after that, make a row of crab stitches. I crocheted 3 dc in each ch-3 spaces in the 1st round.

Crochet a row of dc and a row of crab stitches around the neckline. I crocheted 2 dc in each ch-3 space in the 1st round to narrow down the neckline.

Is there a way to adapt this for a larger size? I know a young lady who would LOVE this but I know this size won’t fit her.

    • Jane says:

You can add additional rows of dc to the square (repeat row 9) or you can replace some rows of dc stitches with tc stitches. It depends on her size. Measure the fullest part of her chest, this measurement = 4 squares. You should divide her measurement by 4 and adapt the square to 1/4 of her measurement. Hope it will help.

I’m already stuck on round 5. It says to crochet through the ch3 from row 4 and the middle chain from round 3 and then to dc in the next 2 stiches? The next 2 stitches where?
