Wildflower Crochet Dresses Pattern

I simply love these dresses by Naomi K. Sills, they look gorgeous in any color. Are you more likely to wear long crochet maxi or a little crochet mini? You can easily create any of these beautiful dresses. For this project you will need two size crochet hooks, one big and one small (smaller hook for the waist). As for the yarn, I think 100% cotton will be a perfect choice for the summer dress. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Comments are appreciated :)

how are the flowers supposed to be joined- single crochet while doing the larger flower or by sewing? thanks

  2. Mikiala says:

    Hello,
I was wondering what size yarn and crochet needles you used to create these dresses? And also what stitches were used?

    • Jane says:

      Hi Mikiala!
Unfortunately, these are not my dresses. But I crocheted some for my friends. For these dresses you can use a crochet hook 1,75 or 2,00 mm with corresponding yarn.
I’ve used Cotton Soft by Yarnart. (656 yards (600 meters)/100 grams (3.53 ounces).
55% Cotton/45% Acrylic. As for your question about the stitch you can check patterns above the photos.

      • Aixa E. Muñiz says:

Hi! Love the dress and I’m planning crochet the short one for myself. How many skein do I need? And, where I can buy the yarn you mention? Or there is another option in yarn? Thank you for any help you can bring me in my new proyect.

  3. Lynn Eddie says:

Hi Jane, I am going out on a limb to try to make the beautiful long dress! Can you give me an idea as to how much yarn I will need?

Also, how much smaller of a hook should I use for the waist motifs?

    Thank you so much!

    • Jane says:

      Hi Lynn
I never made this dress before, but for mini dress size S I’ve used Cotton Soft by Yarnart 400 gr. I think for the longer dress you’ll need 800-900 gr.
About the hooks. For the waist you will need a crochet hook one size smaller or make the half motif like on the photo #9

  4. Kathy says:

Just a quick question. I generally don’t crochet from a graph; however, I think I can figure most of it out. My question is round three; the round after all of the triple crochets. Is there a pattern on how many stitches are skipped? Sometimes it looks like one, and then it looks like two, but I can’t figure out the repetition. Thanks!

    • Pamela says:

If you haven’t figured it out yet, the pattern for round 3 is skip: 1,1,2,1,2,(4x round) 21 st total. written something like this: 3. *Sc in next sc, chain 5, skip next st, Sc in next sc, chain 5, skip next st, sc in next st, chain 5, skip next 2 st, sc, chain 5, skip next chain, sc, chain 5, skip next 2 sts, sc*, repeat to end of round. Connect with sl st

  5. Cassie says:

Hello! I’m wondering how all the motifs connect, and how the motifs connect to the top and bottom edges. The diagram says they’re connected by single crochets, but do you connect them as you go or at the end?

  6. Jennifer says:

Hey! I was just wondering if you do the dresses in one peace or if you crochet The flowers first and then put them together? Thx love the dresses all of them:)

    • Kym says:

Hi Jennifer, I am crocheting a short dress similar to those in white and yellow in right now. I crocheted one flower motif first, then connet the second motif to the first one. I measured these two motifs and figure out how many motifs I would need for the whole dress. I use Cebelia DMC crochet thread size 10 and crochet hooks #8 and #9 for the waist area.

  7. Gigi Lee says:

Beautiful! I never crocheted from a chart but I’m going to give it a go! Thanks for sharing the pattern

  8. Georgia says:

    Hey
This is just what I’m looking for!! But the difficulty is on how we put all the stuff together, how many “flowers” we need, how to make the arms, how to make the silhouette (larger in the bottom and top and more narrow on the stomach part)… I don’t know even how to start! Any help you culd give me? :)

    • Hannah says:

Hey Georgia – the post says to use a smaller hook for the waist, so I assume the motif isn’t changed as the smaller hooks will bring out a smaller motif. In terms of how many you need, she said in another reply to someone else’s comment that she makes two motifs (joining as you go) then uses that to work out how many she will need for the whole outfit.

      Hope that helps!

MasterChat

  10. Beatrice Goin says:

Hallo. I must say this is the most beautiful thing I have seen. I just started crochet recently and every weekend am ready to try a new project. I have done 5 spiderweb skirts.. it was easy for me as the pattern was written, I haven’t mastered reading charts as I learn from the internet, is there a possibility you have written patterns for this?

thank you for spreading the love for crochet

    • Pamela says:

Beatrice, There is no written pattern. I can send you my version of a draft I am creating. Trying to get my daughter interested in crocheting things. I am happy to email you the document if you want.

      • Bernadette says:

        Hello,
I can see from the comments above you have been asked this a lot and are probably very busy! But if you have the chance would you mind sending the pattern to me as well?
        My email address [email protected]
        Thank you!

      • Debbie Ollerenshaw says:

Hi Pamela, could I have a copy of your pattern draft please? Thanks for doing this, slightly struggling to work out how to on figure the motifs around the neck and shoulders. Thank you very much!

  11. Katie says:

Hi I’d like to know what’s happening in the last pic. I can see on the pic on the right that its the neckline but what about the one on the left (sloping graph)… I’d like to try the red dress at the top.

  12. Alexis says:

I am crocheting this amazing dress for my homecoming dance. My question is how to connect the “flowers” if I am supposed to connect them as I crochet, what will I have to connect to if I havent crocheted more flowers??

  13. honey says:

    love it…
i hope you can share a video tutorial on each pattern and how to connect. like on youtubes… ;)

  14. Renee says:

I would love a written copy of your draft. I’ve never crocheted a garment. I would love to crochet this as a dress to renew my wedding vows next summer. It would be beautiful and money saving! Those dresses are stunning!

  15. Bethany says:

I am an experienced crocheter, but this is my first time using a chart. On the basic motif, I’ve gotten to the last row (picots) and can’t figure out how to connect them. I thought the ch3 connected the dc cl on the previous row. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Beautiful dresses! Using the pattern to make a flower girl dress for my daughter.

  16. Sophie says:

Hey, I LOVE LOVE LOVE these dresses! I’m pretty new to crochet, I can generally get my head around the charts but visualising how to put it all together I find tricky. I would love for you to be able to send me your rough draft, it would be fabulous! Many thanks :) [email protected]

I am trying to replace a dress that I shrunk when I washed it….not as beautiful as this one, but the same idea. Thanks in advance for your help. The dresses are gorgeous!

I would really love to receive your draft pattern also as I have started the tunica last week. Front is done and I’m on the back now. Thank you for the charts, especially for the borders around the neck and bottom. About the side joinings I’m a little bit confused. Maybe your draft pattern helps. Thank you !
