I made this crochet cowl last summer using lace weight yarn. I wanted to create a pattern that looks like knitting. It turns in a very warm scarf that also can be worn in the winter time. You can crochet a beanie, gloves and skirt using this pattern. NOTE: it takes so much yarn! :)
Materials:
Yarn: Alize Forever/Lace / 2 ply/100% Microfiber/328 yards / 50 grams – 6 skeins
Crochet Hook: 2.00 mm
Stitches Used: ch-chain, sl st-slip stitch, dc-double crochet, fpdc-front post double crochet, bpdc-back post double crochet. How to make fpdc and bpdc see here
Length: 21 in or 53cm
PATTERN:
Number of stitches: multiple of 14
Round 1: make a foundation dc, join with sl st to first dc. How to make a foundation dc see here
Round 2-37 (or make how many rounds as you need): ch-2, fpdc in the 1st st, fpdc in next st, * bpdc in next 2 st, fpdc in next 2 st **, repeat from * to ** around, join with sl st to 1st fpdc
Round 38-41: ch-2, fpdc in the 1st st, (bpdc, fpdc) in next 6 sts, * bpdc in next 7 sts, (fpdc,bpdc) in next 7 sts **, repeat from * to ** around, join with sl st to the 1st st
Round 42- 45: ch-2, bpdc in the 1st st, bpdc in next 6 sts, * (fpdc,bpdc) in next 7 sts, bpdc in next 7 dc **, repeat from * to ** around, join with sl st to the 1st st
Repeat Round 38-45 15 times or as many rounds as you need, then repeat Round 2 38 times
