Hi girls! Today, I would like to share with you a very simple yet beautiful idea about how to decorate your Christmas table this year. Since last summer, I’ve wanted to create a pattern with bells and finally managed to get this pattern done! Crochet Christmas bell placemats will be a perfect decoration for your home for many years, also it is a great Christmas gift. So, let’s get started!

MATERIALS:

Yarn: Melissalana Platinum Cotton (75 g/150 m)/ 100% cotton, you can use any corresponding yarn

Gauge: 10×10 cm(4×4 in) = 22 st x 10 rows

Crochet Hook: 3 mm

Size: D=40 cm(15 1/2 in)

Stitches Used: ch – chain, sl st – slip stitches, sc – single crochet, dc – double crochet, tc – triple crochet, dtr – double triple crochet, dc2(3,4)tog – 2(3,4) dc crochet together

PATTERN:

BELL (you’ll need 12 bells)

Row 1: ch-6, join with the sl st to the 1st ch, ch-3 (count as the 1st dc), turn, 8 dc into the ring

Row 2: ch-1, turn, sc in the 1st dc, sc in each dc to the end of row

Row 3: ch-3 (count as the 1st dc), turn, dc in each sc to the end of the row

Row 4: ch-1, turn, sc in the 1st dc, sc in each dc to the end of row

Row 5: ch-3 (count as the 1st dc), turn, dc in each sc to the end of the row

Row 6: ch-5 (count as the 1st tc with ch-1), turn, tc in the same dc, ch-1, * tc in next dc, ch-1 **, repeat from * to ** 7 times, 2  tc with ch-1 between them in the last dc

Row 7: ch-1, turn, sc in the 1st tc, sc in next ch-1 space, (sc in next tc, sc in next ch-1 space) repeat until you’ll reach 10 sc, picot, sc in each tc and ch-1 space to the end of the row, cut the yarn

JOINING

Connect the yarn to the beginning circle, ch-1, work 4 sc into the circle, ch-4, yarn over 6 times, insert your hook in the 2nd row of sc of the 1st bell, finish dtr st, yarn over 3 times, insert the hook into the two corners of the two bells (the end and the begging of the last row of the bells), finish dtr st, yarn over 3 times, insert your hook in the 2nd row of sc of the 2nd bell, finish dtr st two times, ch-4, 4 sc into the beginning ring of the 2nd bell, ch-4. Connect 12 bells in this way. Join with sl st to the 1st sc
