Well, I love crop tops and today I’d like to share this free casual crochet top pattern. This summer is so hot so I’ve chosen a short version, but you can easily crochet it any length you want. This is a perfect length for the beach or go out at night. You can also wear it with high waisted skirt and cardigan. I think it will be a great addition to your fall wardrobe.

I love this top, but do you have the pattern instructions for a Medium or Large?
El patrón lo hace uno añadiendo en las cadenetas base de 5 en 5. y así lo haces del tamaño que quieras.
Vas haciendo cadenetas de 5 en 5 hasta tu tamaño.
Esto es lo que se llama múltiplos.
Ive started this beautiful top. Made a ch 230 to begin with. I noticed that in row 33 it decreases to 184 and then increases to 276 in rows 34-36. I hope this is the correct count or I will have to restart it again. Any input?
I’ve begun this project with a ch of 230. So far s o good – when I reached row 33 it decreased and now on row 34 it increased – could this be correct? I hope so or I’ll have to undo these rows. Can you offer any advise? Thanks
You are doing everything right.
Can someone please explain the first part to me. I don’t get it! Should I chain multiples of 5 and 3ch then chain 222 and join to the very first chain or to the first chain of the 222? My multiple of 5 is 160ch and with the 3ch i chained 163ch.
Chain multiples of 5, do not chain 3
Hello, this is a beautiful top and I would like to know if here is a video tutorial of it? That would be awesome.
Thank you!

Please someone, tell me where I can buy this stretch yarn! Can I use another kind of yarn?

Please help !
I don’t understand why the increase at what appears to me to be the area where it should be the smallest part of the garment – I’m very confused.
I’m on my second attempt at making this for my daughter.. the first one came out way to small and she is only tiny at an Australian size 6. I’m now using a larger hook.
I cannot get any kind of elastic yarn in Australia, (well not that I could locate anyway).
Thanks
Es facil conseguir este hilo online en yarnstreet.com
consigues hilo Nako Comfort Stretch y Diva Stretch de Alize.
You can get Nako yarn on Etsy or Ebay, just do a search of elastic yarn and it will come up. Or you can order Hikoo Cobasi elastic sock yarn online which is also elastic but mainly natural fibres. Failing that you can even just crochet/knit with a strand of elastic thread held doubled with your non elastic yarn like this http://www.clover-mfg.com/oceania/products/elastic/
Hello Jane! I love the top that you made and I would love to make some of my own and for a friend. I can’t find the Nako yarn. Is there an other yarn that I can use to achieve the same result als the Nako yarn? Does the yarn weight matter a lot for this project? Because I found some elastic sport yarn.
Thanks

How do you go up in size? Not everyone is a size small
Chain in multiples of 5
I would like to lengthen this top to the waist. Does the pattern shown start at the bottom of the shirt?
Just make more rounds.
Will this pattern work if I just use acrylic worsted weight yarn?
Hi! Could one of you ladies help me? Did she mean 2.00mm crochet hook? If so, what’s the letter for that crochet hook? Sorry I’m kind of new at this.
Hi Sarah, there is no letter for 2.00 mm. It is a steel hook, very small.
Sorry but I can’t understand row 5 it says 4 dc in next ch- 4space dc in next sc repeat from to around so far everything is understood but at the end of the round where I crochet 2 dc in the first ch-4 space has already 4 dc I am so confused help me what I am doing wrong?
Please read the pattern carefully. You should end the 4th round with DC to the 1st sc. It is mean that you will start a new round from the middle of the chain space. Then make 3chs and dc in the same (ch-space), follow the pattern and finish with 2 dc in the 1st ch space
How many inches will size small be? Pls reply
Model wears size S. Bust-86cm Waist-66
Does the pattern start at the top of the garment or the bottom?
Late to the party. Does anyone know if this is worked top down or bottom up?
This pattern is worked top down
Is there a video on how to make this?
What size yarn did you use?
I want to make this but I have 5ply/sports weight, will this work the same?
I would love to try this. I have no idea how to do the joining part at the end of rows 1 and 2! Please help!
In the end of the row make 2 chains and join with dc to the 1st sc.
What is the gauge? I am using a different yarn (Lang Yarn’s Moina) & hook size (2.25mm). I can adjust accordingly if I know the gauge. Thanks!
Unfortunately, I don’t the gauge. You can measure your chest then chain in multiples of 5 according to your measurement.
Ok, thanks.
How can I make this an XS? Please help
Just make less chains at the beginning.
Hi there! Top looks awesome!
I can’t work out what I’ve done wrong. The beginning chain is 220 sts is that right? Then in round 6 I finish with 2 dc in the same st & i have 2 sts left in a row. Should I just make ch2 & slip st at the end? Or I should’ve started with chain 222 in the first place?
Thanks a lot in advance
work ch-1 and join with sl st to the 1st st :)
Thanks, but do I have 119 sts then?
Did you mean 219? If so 219+ch-3 at the beginning = 220
Sorry, yes 219))) + ch3 makes 222sts but round 3,4,5 are multiples of 5 & rounds 7,8,9 are multiples of 3. It doesn’t make sense to me:( plz help
I reckon 225 chains would work
220 will work too. just follow the pattern.
hi, wonderful top. would love to try it, but need to know: do you use UK or US crochet terms?
All my patterns are written using standard American crochet termes
thank you very much for replying so quickly!
Hi I have a question when you say skip 4 stiches that includes dc and chains?
Thanks
Yocasta
yes it includes them
Hi I have a question when you say skip 4 chains do I actually in the 5 chain?
Yes, you should work in the 5th chain
Hi!
If I want this to be a size M, how do i do that? Do you have the pattern for size M?
Hi! Measure your chest and chain multiple of 5 according to your measurement, then follow the pattern :)
Hola por favor el patron en español !!
Will this pattern work using dk cotton yarn ,or must it be elasticated yarn ,Thank you.
It will work If your chest and breasts are the same size :)
Hi Jane
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, this is a beautiful pattern 🌸, do you possibly have a video for this pattern lm confused as to how to start round 2, after l slip stitch should l then csingle crochet in the same place and the end of round 2 also confuses me too.
you must finish the 2nd round in the middle of ch-4 (ch-2, join with DC in the 1ST sc)
Does the pattern use US or UK terminology?
The pattern is written using US crochet terms
Hello Jane, greetings from the Czech Republic :) I love many of your patterns, you are doing great work. :) May I ask a question about this one? Is anywhere the “old” pattern? I remember that there was some decreasing in row 33 (or somehow) but in the new pattern this part is missing… :( Thank for your reply.
I am asking because I’ve tried to make it bít with non-stretch yarn and it was really ugly. But now I have same yarn as you recommend and I want to crochet it again. :)
If you use the same yarn you don’t need decreasing
