Materials:

Yarn: YarnArt Jeans, Sport / 5 ply 55% Cotton, 45% Acrylic, 174 yards / 50 grams

Alize Cotton Gold, Sport / 5 ply, 55% Cotton, 45% Acrylic, 360 yards / 100 grams

Crochet Hook: 3 mm

Stitches Used: ch-chain, sl st-slip stitch, sc-single crochet, dc-double crochet

PATTERN:

ch-5, join with sl st to 1st ch

Round 1: ch-3, 2 dc in the circle, ch-3, (3 dc in the circle, ch-3) repeat 3 times, join with sl st to top of ch-3 (5 ch-3 spaces)

Round 2: sl st in next 2 dc, sl st in ch-3 space, ch-3, 2 dc in same space, ch-3, 3 dc in same space, (3 dc in next ch-3 space, ch-3, 3 dc in same space) repeat 3 times, join with sl st to top of ch-3 (5 ch-3 spaces)

Round 3: sl st in next 2 dc, sl st in ch-3 space, ch-3, 2 dc in same space, ch-4, 3 dc in same space, sc in the place between next two 3 dc’s, (3 dc in next ch-3 space, ch-4, 3 dc in same space, sc in the place between next two 3 dc’s) repeat 3 times, join with sl st to top of ch-3, finish off

    Round 1 should show a repeat of the (3 dc in the circle, ch-3) to be done 4 times, not 3, in order to create the 5-pointed star.

    I’ve made one already and plan to make more – thank you for this design!

      Hi Deborah
      For the 5 pointed star you should make “ch-3, 2 dc in the circle”, then “(3 dc in the circle, ch-3)” and repeat “(3 dc in the circle, ch-3)” 3 times = 5. But you made everything right :)
      Round 1: ch-3, 2 dc in the circle, ch-3, (3 dc in the circle, ch-3) repeat 3 times, join with sl st to top of ch-3

      Thank you, this helped me. It was not coming out right for me either. This clarification made all the difference- 5 sets in the first round.
