LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!!! Can I go in the water using this top?
Thank you :) Sure,if you are going to use the stretch yarn.
Hi! Are you familiar with monaco mercerized cotton yarn size 8? Can it be used for this pattern? I couldn’t find nako comfort stretch here in our country. What do you suggest i could use as a substitute?
Ok I have made the front part but I’m confused as to how to start on the horizontal back stripe…is it connected to the front part? after I chain 3 where do I start the double crochet
Ok confused is the beginning chain 41 or 141 using a 2mm hook my chain is only 6 inches long
you should start the top-down
you are starting from the top of the front piece at the collar
Sorry I see that the pattern starts at the top bUT I still think 2mm is too small. Do you have any gauge measurements
I’ve used ELASTIC yarn :)
can you use sock yarn for this, even tho its colored.
yes sure :)
Hi Jane,
i love this pattern and I’m gonna try and make it for my daughter. I don’t have elastic yarn but the yarn I have does have a bit of stretch in it.
Because I don’t have the elastic yarn can you please tell me approximately how wide this is at the top.
39 dc’s of the first row is measuring up to 7 inches for me. I think that may be too wide.
Looking forward to your advice.
Thanks.
April
You can use any kind of yarn, just make as many dc’s as you need
Hi i have the same question as below and did not see your response

Love the pattern and am making it for a friend but I have one question. How many DCs are in row 36 of the front part? According to my calculations (following the pattern above) I get 140 but counting the stitches in the second picture it looks closer to 126. Any help would be appreciated!
Is there anyway you can make this top a little longer?
I used your pattern and I made my own top….but I added more rows in the front part and two more horizontal stripes at the back!!!thank you so much, you were very helpfull!!!😊
Great! It would be interesting to see it! :)
Did it .love it. I’ll post picture on pinterest with a link to your pattern.
Hi! Do you have bottoms to go with this top? Bikini bottoms with the back pattern on the hip straps?
I’m about to make this for a friend and she wants bottoms also. Thanks!
You could use this pattern for the bottom: http://beautifulcrochetstuff.com/crochet-swimsuit-free-pattern/
Hi. I’m not sure I can find this yarn, and of course, gauge is an issue. Can you tell me what the measurements are? All I really need is the width of the bottom of the front piece. Thanks!
you can use any Light Fingering (3 ply ) yarn
Por no en castellano o con patrón de puntos , gracias
I just finished this top . . .the pattern was easy to follow and fun to make! Thank you for posting this! I could not find the comfort stretch yarn. I used Cascade Ultra Pima Fine and a 2.25 mm hook. It took about 2.5 skeins. I also wanted to include the measurements of my finished piece because I think others starting this project with an alternate yarn might find this helpful:
The front part, top: 6″
The front part, bottom: 23″
The horizontal stripe: 9″
The vertical stripe: 7.5″
The shoulder straps: 6.75″
Thank you Emily for your work :-*
Thank you for this..
😎
Is this using double crochet with reference to UK or US terminology?
Louisa
